Fredericksburg Bachelorette Party Guide

I love a good bachelorette party! What better way to send your best gal off into marriage than a weekend spent with her ladies? Cue Beyoncé. AND what better place that Fredericksburg, land of premium Texas wines and Fredericksburg wine tours!

I have had the matron-of-honor duties of planning my sister’s bachelorette party and my best friend’s bachelorette party. Both of their only requests were that we party in Fredericksburg. That is right up my alley! I am a planner at heart, and I believe having a simple guide to planning makes everything much more enjoyable for everyone.

Are you looking for great wineries, with the appeal of all Austin, Texas has to offer with its nightlife, food scene and outdoorsy options, check out our post on the Dripping Springs wineries, only 45 minutes from downtown Austin!

What is the best time to visit Fredericksburg?

Harvest season is a busy time for Fredericksburg, and runs late July through August, sometimes into early September. October is the busiest month due to great weather- sun, warm with lows in the 70s and Oktoberfest, generally the first weekend of October. Expect to pay more in October, specifically during Oktoberfest.

Step 1: Book Your Accommodations:

If you have never visited Fredericksburg before, I would highly recommend speaking to an event planner or local, to ensure you’re staying in the best location. Pictures can be deceiving! If you are booking yourself, I recommend booking through Airbnb or another comparable site.

Recommended Fredericksburg Rentals:

  • Doppelhaus: charming 3 bed, 2 bath Unit A & Unit B Bavarian Guest House in the historic district (sleeps 8)
  • Katrina Haus: unique 2 bed, 2 bath farmhouse built around an1880s log cabin home (sleeps 8)
  • Clover Haus: darling 4 bed, 3 bath vintage cottage and in walking distance Main Street (sleeps 11)

Go to Visit Fredericksburg Texas for additional Fredericksburg hotels and BnBs.

Step 2: Plan Your Itinerary:

First of all, get a good feel for what the bride-to-be wants to do over the weekend. It’s also important to factor in the other ladies, as much as you possibly can, however, it is really about the bride-to-be!

German Culture: Fredericksburg, an old German settlement, still holds true to its roots today. Fredericksburg’s German heritage is ever-present in its’ music, architecture and events held throughout the year. History buffs will enjoy walking tours of the historic district, Lyndon B. Johnson Historical National Park and The National Museum of the Pacific War. Even if you aren’t a history buff, if you don’t grab a schnitzel and a German bier, you are seriously missing out.

| Tip: For a nice dinner out, Otto’s German Bistro is a must for locally sourced food with a German flair. Reservations recommended (limited reservations for parties up to 10)

Fredericksburg is a popular destination for good reason- as it truly offers something for everyone.

Texas Wine Country: Fredericksburg, Texas has put Texas wines on the map, for even the biggest wine aficionados. Everything is bigger in Texas, the nation’s second-largest wine region, with over 9 million acres of vineyards. Fredericksburg is truly the center of Texas’ wine country, so I assume a Fredericksburg wine tour will be on your itinerary. Texas wine is tending, with new wineries popping up on the 290 wine trail frequently, and great wine getting noticed nation-wide.

The Texas Hill Country proudly offers over 50 wineries, with more than 40 wineries and tasting rooms located in Fredericksburg alone! Due to Texas’ warm climate, Mediterranean-style grapes are most popular- such as Albariño, Mourvedre, Sangiovese, and Tempranillo, just to name a few. You will truly find something for everyone, whether it be natural wines, Rosé, sweet wines, dry wines, or bubbly.
